Are you caught in an endless conflict between wanting to lose weight and an out of control urge to scoff the entire food cupboard?
Does your determined resolution each morning consistently end with a take out and wine in front of the TV?
Are you tired of the vicious cycle of y- yo dieting?
The reason for the tireless cycle of losing weight and gaining it all back and more is because you have been trying to solve a problem by focusing on the symptom of the issue and not the actual cause!
So all of those diets you have tried and failed, it wasn’t your fault. You were simply using the wrong tool for the job
Overeating, comfort eating and binging are learnt behavioural patterns that can be changed quickly with some simple techniques.
So what is the best strategy for losing weight?
Historically, Calories In Versus Calories Out (CICO) has been the accepted format for weight loss. But with ever-increasing obesity figures, it’s clear that the solution to weight loss is a lot more complex than simply eating less and moving more!
The “Holy Trinity” for weight loss
It is commonly understood nutrition and diet have a greater impact on weight loss than exercise. Exercise certainly is an important component and definitely one of the three key elements of the holy trinity for weight loss, but is not enough on its own to bring about long term sustained weight loss. We can’t just eat whatever they want and go to the gym and expect the weight to drop off.
We also know that diets that are based around deprivation and denial do not provide long term solutions.
Recent popular diets such as “low fat” have failed to make even a small impact on the increase in the number of obese individuals, not just in the UK but in the Western W
world. It’s not getting better, it’s getting worse. A new approach is desperately needed.

The good news is that recent developments in nutrition science have at last given revealed the answers and paved the way to strategies that really work. With all the compelling scientific evidence of the last decade we now know how to create a “diet” that genuinely works, and not just for short term, but with life long results.
The missing link
“The Best Diet is the one you don’t know you are on” Adam Brumberg
It’s estimated that every day we make around 200 decisions about food and most of these are made unconsciously. Our relationship with food is the longest relationship we ever have, and yet like all relationships, it can be nurturing, or it can be abusive.
Mind-set is arguably most influential of the “Holy Trinity” that makes this plan a complete programme; because how you think determines all of your food and activity choices. This fundamental element of weight loss is massively overlooked and is the missing link for success for so many people.
One of the main reasons people make “bad” food choices and overeat, causing a regain (and more) of any lost weight, is that they have not addressed and changed the underlying behaviour that leads them to overeat in the first place, and most commonly, to use food for comfort. This mechanism plays out in the brain, so any solution has to start with the mind!
There are so many different weight loss programmes (of varying quality) available however clearly a programme that combines both mind and body is much more likely to be effective than one without the other.
